Studying to be a Doctor of Chiropractic can take up 4 to 6 years and is more detailed than many people think. For example many chiropractors do more training in the anatomy and physiology of the human body than a GP. Most chiropractors are also trained to both take and read xrays which makes them quite unique in the health care professions. Few people can do all of these things without extended training.
chiropractors take the patient history and complete a physcial examination, orthopaedic examination and diagnosis as well as take and then read xrays themselves. This is a unique skill set. The Chiropractor is then trained to perform many forms of precise spinal adjustmetns unique to the profession. This is not common within the medical fields and allows Chiropractors to get on with helping their patients a lot sooner and to produce reports and test results and therefore speed up the process of starting chiropractic care.
